Seiko Electric Industries Co., Ltd. (present Sekonic Co., Ltd.) is established. The first product of Sekonic-brand exposure meter, Sekonic P-1, is marketed.

June 1959

Tokyo Plant is completed for production of exposure meters for photographic use (site of present headquarters).

The Hachiyou optical industry Ikeda Factory Co., Ltd. (Ikeda, Ikeda-cho, kita-azumi-gun, Nagano prefecture) is opened for the manufacture of exposure meters.

August 1960

Company name is changed to Sekonic Co., Ltd.

August 1961

Tokyo Plant is authorized as JIS Designated Factory for "electric exposure meters for photographic use".

Sekonic stocks are listed on the Second Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Enforcing the business collaboration with Konica Corporation, complete consignment of national manufacture for copiers' bodies. The Ikeda Factory name is changed to Azumino Factory.
The Hachioji Tokyo Business Office of Konica Corporation is inaugurated as our company's Hachioji Office for the manufacture line of copiers' bodies.

A commercial facility is built on a land owned by the headquarters in Nerima-ku, Tokyo.

Sekonic Electronics (Changshu) Co., Ltd. is established as a subsidiary (present consolidated subsidiary) in Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, China.

Sekonic (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. is established as a subsidiary(present consolidated subsidiary) in Hong Kong, China.

March 2008

Manufacture and sales of color meters are begun.

January 2009

Sekonic Sansei Technologies (shenzhen) Co.,Ltd. (present SHENZEN SEKONIC TECHNOLOGIES CO.,LTD) is established as a subsidiary(present consolidated subsidiary) in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China.

April 2010

The company takes over the business rights of viscometers from CBC Co., Ltd.

January 2012

Subsidiaries Fukushima Sekonic Corporation and Hakodate Sekonic Corporation merge to become Sekonic Electronics Inc.
Sekonic Trading & Sales Co., Ltd. and Sekonic TECHNOLAB Co., Ltd. are made wholly-owned subsidiaries.

April 2012

The company shifts to a holding company structure and changes its name to Sekonic Holdings Corporation.
Sekonic Co., Ltd. is established as a new subsidiary.

August 2014

HUIZHOU SEKONIC TECHNOLOGIES CO.,LTD. will be established as a subsidiary of SEKONIC（HONGKONG） CO.,LTD., and production will be transferred to it from SHENZHEN SEKONIC TECHNOLOGIES CO.,LTD.

SEKONIC TECHNOLAB CO.,LTD., will begin a software development business.

SHENZHEN SEKONIC TECHNOLOGIES CO.,LTD. will be liquidated
The business of the subsidiary, SEKONIC CORPORATION AZUMINO OFFICE will be transferred to SEKONIC CORPORATION FUKUSHIMA OFFICE and HUIZHOU SEKONIC TECHNOLOGIES CO.,LTD.

The subsidiaries, SEKONIC CORPORATION and SEKONIC TRADING & SALES CO.,LTD. will be merged, and operate under the trade name SEKONIC CORPORATION.
The subsidiary SEKONIC TECHNOLAB CO.,LTD will transfer all stocks to MUTOH ITEX Co.,Ltd.
